Dr Michael completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Newcastle before earning his medical degree from the Graduate School of Medicine at the University of Wollongong, where he received the University Distinction Award.
He completed specialist training as a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist within the Western Sydney, Illawarra, and Shoalhaven health districts. Currently, he is undertaking an international fellowship in Gastroenterology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease at St James Hospital in the United Kingdom, a leading centre for Gastroenterology and Liver Transplantation.
Dr Michael has a strong commitment to medical education, having served as a Conjoint Associate Lecturer and tutor at the Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine and the Western Sydney University School of Medicine.
Areas of Interest
Dr Michael is passionate about delivering high-quality healthcare services to regional and rural communities. He is particularly focused on providing exceptional Gastroenterology and Hepatology care to the Shoalhaven region, with a subspecialty interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
His research has been published in the field of Gastroenterology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He also has experience serving in the Medical Corps of the Australian Army. Outside of medicine, Dr Michael is raising his young family on the South Coast and enjoys outdoor adventuring and travel.
